Character(s): Stella Argyris, open to anyone
Content: It's been mentioned a few times now that the rest of the culinary staff keeps sending Stella on whatever errands they can think of to keep her away. This is why.
Setting: In or near the kitchen.
Time: A week after meeting Keruru in the throne room.
Notes & Warnings: n/a
They said that the newest addition to the castle's culinary staff was a pain in the butt. That she insisted on trying to do things her own way. That no amount of discouragement would stop her.
On the days that Stella wasn't sent out to run one errand or another, she could actually be found in the kitchen doing some real work.
The claims that she was a pain in the butt? She usually—but not always—showed up on time, even though she was really expected to be late. She repeatedly asked questions, asked for opinions, and asked for advice which was then usually actually taken seriously. She wasn't the quickest worker, and while overall inexperience was definitely a factor, another part of it was that she took her time trying to get things done as well as she could manage.
The complaints about her doing things her own way? She was trying to apply basic Fire, Wind, and Ice magic to simplify things or to speed up some parts of the overall process. Most of the others viewed it as taking unnecessary steps, when their established routines already worked well enough. A select few were a bit more than annoyed by the idea that the new girl was doing things that—when those things worked in her favor—allowed her to finish the job quicker than they expected of her.
The discouragement? Well, some of the prouder members of the staff did try making threats in an attempt to make her do things their way. Nothing that she was threatened with was any worse than what she had to deal with back in Maritsu, though, so she actually—and surprisingly—wasn't too concerned about that. In fact, she sometimes completely blew them off. Not literally; she didn't like using her magic to start fights, but she would willingly end fights if she really had to.
Today was one of the days where Stella wasn't sent away from the kitchen. As such, she would be found there, helping with fulfilling a few miscellaneous requests that had been made of the staff as a whole. It was nothing too major, though occasionally, a small explosion would be heard.
Sometimes, she would wander out for a short break, usually with a tray of something she made herself in her hands.

Starting to hunger, she makes her way toward the kitchen to see what they might have available. Some sweets combined with Iroh's tea would be the perfect thing about now. She would even bring back some to share with him.
Upon hearing a small explosion, she rushes forward into the kitchen. "What was that?!? Is anyone hurt??"
no subject
She looks wholly unamused.
"Well, that didn't work out as well as I'd hoped," she mumbles to herself, having gone perhaps a little overboard with that last Fire and now proceeding to clean up her mess. Maybe it would be better to try doing cake the normal way, first.
no subject
"It doesn't look that way. Do you want some help cleaning up? I have some time...."
Nevermind that Terra's supposed to be on break. She would hate to leave anyone in such a bind. This mess looks as though it's going to need more than one person to clean up, anyway...if they don't want it to take forever, that is.

"I was— I was trying to see if I could speed things up a little bit and have that cake done sooner," she admits, while using Wind to try to blow some of the cake bits off of the ceiling so they can be disposed of. "I guess I tried a little too hard."
And now she'll need to start over because of it.

The idea of using it for something else intrigues her, even as this didn't seem to be the best application of it. "What spell were you using before?"
no subject
"That was Fire," she answers simply. "I was trying to cut down on the time I'd have to wait for it to be done. I would have tried cooling it down afterward with Wind, if it didn't explode on me like that..." Speaking of Wind, she's moved down from the ceiling itself to the bits stuck farther up on the walls.

Terra will try to reach what she can with the broom, preferring to bring it all down to the floor before sweeping that up.
"How much fire did you use? Would it be possible to lessen it, so you don't have exploding cake again?"
no subject
She looks at the pan that used to hold the same cake that they're now cleaning up. It's noticeably-scorched.
"U-um, well, it started at about the same size as the cake itself, and got a bit bigger from there before it did this. If I tried, I could probably manage something a bit smaller."
no subject
No lecturing from Terra; if anything, she seems to be considering it as she sweeps up.
"I admit, it sounds interesting. I've only ever used magic for battle. That it could be used for other things is a completely new concept...but one that I wouldn't mind seeing in action."
