The Great Outdoors (aren't so Great) [Open]
Character(s): Emizel and \o/?
Content: Netherworld camping is not that fun
Setting: Plains of Grief
Time: Whenever
Notes/Warnings: Nothing particular at the moment
Whenever Emizel wasn't exploring the castle, he was found doing something outside; fighting off weaker demons or the like. There was already a decent collection of items gathered in his tent. Nothing too high ranked, but certainly a few rare, maybe legendary. It was something he could do for the time being. If he was going to be trapped in this Netherworld for quite some time, might as well get some experience out of it. Then he'll be even more ready when he returned.
Well, everybody had to start from somewhere supposedly. But this felt too far of a step down really.
The tent was kept mostly hidden, for good reasons. Less chance someone found it, less chance of being robbed or something worse. Not that Emizel wanted many others to know he was living out here anyway. All these reasons and more was why he made sure he wasn't being followed when he came back. Although sometimes, slip ups had a chance of happening.

But there was another reason, one that had less to do with apologizing and more with curiosity. Because the kid was giving him extremely strong feelings of deja vu, and he had no idea why. (He did not, of course, know that Emizel was his world's Death. Yet.)

"...?"
Nah, probably imagining it. After all if Emizel continued to be that paranoid all the time he would most likely never leave.
no subject
He'd never spent a great deal of time using those abilities, though, because frankly it was simpler just to hack and slash his way past whatever obstructions presented themselves. Now that he had a nominal job, though... well, it felt nice to stretch his metaphysical muscles.
That said, he wasn't making too overt an effort to remain hidden just now - it was mostly luck and the rather craggy, shadowy terrain working to his advantage. Hell, there were plenty of times Emizel could've spotted him - but he didn't, and so Soma managed to tail him almost all the way to his makeshift lair.
"So this is where you've been holing up," he mused mostly to himself, his hands open at his sides, devoid of weapons. "Not a bad spot, if you don't mind the lava."
no subject
"What!?" Emizel made a poor attempt to cover up everything. Nope, nothing to see here and all. No campsite, dunno what you're talking about.
"I-I was just....um.."
((Actually it's more like a normal looking field area right now. Yeah, settings in these never make sense XD; ))
no subject
(Derp, my bad. I was thinking he was closer to the castle for some reason.)
no subject
"...Then why are you helping him?"
no subject
He wandered closer, hands still empty, and finally took a seat on the grass. "I'm not here to steal from you or anything like that; I actually wanted to apologize to you. Weak spell or not, I shouldn't have thrown that attack while you were being held hostage."
no subject
"You came all the way out here because of that?" Emizel sounded a bit surprised. Having anyone apologize to him was kind of rare enough, let alone from someone he hardly knew.

The demivampire sighed, wrapping his arms around his knees. "I've got the strangest sense of deja-vu about you, by the way - like we've met before, but damned if I know when, how, or where."
no subject
"I don't remember ever seeing you before."
no subject
no subject
"You're probably confusing me with somebody else."
no subject
no subject
"How long ago was that?"
no subject
Suddenly the air was full of scythes. They just... kinda hung there, slowly rotating, until Soma banished them with a wave of his hand. "I'm not very easy to kill. I'm not exactly human anymore, either - and maybe I never was. It would explain a lot, actually. I don't even know if there's a word for what I am. Not entirely human, not entirely a vampire, not entirely anything..."
no subject
"...Well it's not father then," then again, he hadn't been the most... honest the last couple hundred years. But this didn't seem like it would anything to do with that. And it certainly wasn't Emizel either whoever this other 'Death' was. Not that wasn't already obvious.
no subject
Soma smiled a wry, not unkind smile. "I kind of doubt it was anyone from your world. But, if you're the child of a shinigami of some sort, that would explain the feeling of familiarity. To some extent, at least."
no subject
'Used to be' may be the keyword given that it appeared every strong demon lost most of their power within the last four centuries.
no subject
Death had been many things, but a king... was not one of them. He'd called Mathias king, once. 'The King who wields the Crimson Stone,' referring to an alchemic relic that was said to act as both source and amplifier for his power. It was long-since lost, sacrificed in the war against the Belmonts and humanity, but its last remnants remained in the ring and brooch Dracula always wore.

So, he shrugged. "Ah well. If it's important, we'll figure it out later. For now, I just wanted to catch up, tell you I was sorry for throwing a spell at your head, and try to put it right. There anything you need help with?"
no subject
"Oh, hi. Out again?"
no subject
He stopped, looking all confused. "Huh?"
Had they..met before or something?
no subject
"I just see you heading out and back every so often, is all. I'm going to guess you work outside?"
no subject
"...Something like that."
no subject
"Must be kinda bum work. Hrm... Are you local?"
no subject
"Local? Whaddya mean local?"

Actually wait, maybe technically that is sort of true.
"Just because I'm a demon doesn't mean I'm from here!" his Netherworld is much better, okay?
